The question we’ve been asking is:

Has Draymond Green been hindering Steph Curry’s NBA career and legacy, as part of the hydra-headed effort to artificially elevate LeBron James?

Draymond Green has long been a part of the “emperor has no clothes” campaign of LeBron. There have been too many instances of Green lifting LeBron up in the so-called GOAT debate. His takes grew more and more outlandish or troll-flavored. Draymond was involved with the Warriors’ 2016 collapse after being up three games to one. When he was suspended midway through that Finals series, it drastically affected the team and the games.

Draymond ran Kevin Durant out of town. Draymond flexed on Jordan Poole and got him up out of the Bay Area.

Yes, we know these things are not exactly in chronological order. That’s not the point. Draymond has been a consistent distraction or stumbling block to his own team, hurting as much as he helps with the suspensions and Tourette’s elbows. And during all that time, Draymond Green has been increasingly an endorser of LeBron through his platform.

Ever since the 2016 playoffs, the things that Green did and said caused us to suspect that Draymond is a plant to pump up LeBron. Might it be for money, or friendship? Doesn’t matter. We simply could see what he was doing, and somehow Dray believes that we couldn’t. Or he took it all as a joke, which is more believable.

The point is that Draymond’s exalting of LeBron has had the effect of downgrading Steph Curry. “Keep your enemies closer” comes into play here. Curry’s game, legacy, accolades and influence are equal to or stronger than LeBron’s.

Could that be part of the reason Draymond was such a drag on Curry’s prime? Are we conspiracy theorists? We wouldn’t go down a rabbit hole as it’s called, yet the facts are that Draymond has been stuffing things up for almost a decade as we sit here in 2024. His antics have hurt Golden State’s chances for a long time.

While LeBron’s image is a construction, Curry’s has been suffering destruction; a chipping away from a guy right next to him.
